How To Paint An Accent Wall and Create Vinyl Lettering

We have our 1st (and only) BOY!! We were so excited when we found out after 3 girls, that we are FINALLY having a BOY! Of course, I had to make an Owl Nursery, BOY style!!  This room used to be a pink and green butterfly and flower room.  So we created an Owl Nursery with Green Accent Wall and Vinyl Lettering.  First, we painted an accent wall, then added owl curtains, a cute vinyl tree with wooden owl houses, and vinyl owl stickers.  I also created vinyl lettering for my sons name “Ephraim”, with my silhouette machine and hung it over his crib. You can kind of see it in this picture.  I also made some owl canvas art.

Owl Nursery with Green Accent Wall and Vinyl Lettering: Painting a wall, just has a few basic steps.  First, you need to “cut in”.  That means, use a hand brush to paint around all the edges, including the ceiling.  After all the “cutting in” is finished, then you can use a roller to paint the remaining space.  When deciding on an accent wall color, make sure you pick a color that is in your decor or bedding.  We chose green because it was in the bedding.  The accent wall is usually the first wall that you see when you walk into a room.  So we painted the wall with the windows for his accent wall.

Create Vinyl Lettering

Owl Nursery with Green Accent Wall and Vinyl Lettering: If you have a Cricket or Silhouette machine, simply cut out your letters and shapes.  Then apply clear transfer to the letters and shapes. This will help you when apply the entire word in a straight line instead of sticking one letter or shape on at a time in a crooked line.
