DIY Framed Magnetic Board

Do you love being organized and having all of your stuff within hands reach? Do you wish you had more storage on your walls instead of your items taking up space on your counter area?  Here is a Great DIY Framed Magnetic Board, that will free up space and keep you organized, all within a hands reach.

Welcome! Today we are doing a Craft/Decor Tutorial. I am excited to show you how to make a DIY Framed Magnetic Board.  Do you have an old frame and don’t know what to do with it? Do you love to display your child’s art work, or organize notes in your office?  Then you can create a magnet board with your old frame.  I just love how this turned out!  When I first bought this frame, it was dark brown.  My husband and I were shopping at Yard Sales one Saturday, and we found a local Korean Church having a Huge Yard Sale.  I paid $6 for a set of 4 frames!!  Hooah!  Don’t you just love finding local finds at a STEAL!? At first this was in my daughter’s room, but now it hangs in my new office.

Supplies:

  1. Frame (mine is 16×20′)
  2. Home Right Paint Sprayer
  3. 1 quart white paint
  4. 1 quart blue paint
  5. Sheet metal
  6. Metal shears
  7. E6000 glue

Tutorial:

First, I took them home and  spray painted these since it was just a little bit of paint, but it was a headache because the paint would drip and streak.  So my paint sprayer came to my rescue.

Second, I used a small craft brush to paint the blue accent color.

Third, I went to my local home improvement store and had them cut some metal to size.

Fourth, I used E6000 glue and glued the sheet metal to the inside of the frame.

In short, if you have an outdated frame, that needs a new life, then turn it into a magnetic board.  Magnetic Boards are very helpful for hanging lots of things, from makeup, recipes, notes, pictures, jars, etc.  Use this magnetic board in any room, ie; bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom.  Please share with me, your completed magnetic frame.  I would love to see how your custom magnetic frame turned out.
