Chalk Marker Command Center

Are you in desperate need of a command center in your home, so you can stay organized? Are you short on space for a command center? Today I invite you into my kitchen.  This is our 3rd home (1st foreclosure). There wasn’t a lot of wall space in our kitchen, since we added a pantry and several pieces of decor. Therefore, we had to get creative on where to add our Command Center.  Then I realized, the Pantry would be the Perfect Place for our Command Center.  Our pantry is not a room with a door.  Our pantry is 4 tall cabinets, that we set side by side along a wall.

Pantry with Clear Epoxy and Chalk Marker

Supplies:

  1. Cabinets from Lowes
  2. Can of satin or semi gloss paint (any color)
  3. Can of clear spray epoxy
  4. Bistro Chalk marker
  5. Dry eraser

Step 1: Paint your cabinets any color.  We used grey, and apply a clear epoxy finish.

Step 2: After the paint has dried, spray 2 coats of clear epoxy adhesive.  This allows your cabinets to be sealed, which is what you want since you don’t want the chalk marker to seep through your painted cabinets.

Pantry Command Center

Here is a picture with the chalk marker on the clear epoxy cabinet. It wipes off easily with a wet wipe.

In closing, having a command center is a great way to update your kitchen and stay organized.  However, having a pantry that is multi-purpose as a Chalk Marker Command Center gives you room when you are short on space.  Visit my second tutorial on when I created a chalkboard pantry with vinyl adhesive stickers.
