6 Steps to Decorate a Nursery

Decorating bedrooms are So Much Fun.  Especially, if you are Expecting your first Baby!  Here are 6 Steps to Decorate a Nursery.

  1. Decide on a Theme, or a Color Scheme.
  2. Choose Your Furniture
  3. Buy Your Paint Color
  4. Select Your Fabrics, for bedding and curtains
  5. Pick Out Decor & Accessories
  6. Bring It All Together

6 Steps to Decorate a Nursery

Step 1: We decided on An Owl Nursery, Go Figure!

Step 2: Pick out Furniture.  We chose a pine color.  This was crib set was also used for our daughter, pine is a great look for either gender.

Step 3: Pick Out Paint Color.  Hint: You can use more than 1 color.  Have fun, and create an accent wall, or install a chair rail and paint a different color on the bottom and top of chair rail.  Paint a mural. Sky is the limit.  We choose Green and Beige.

Step 4: Pick out Fabric for Bedding and Curtains.  We found an owl theme comforter and curtains from a Yard sale and online.  See links Above.

Step 5: Pick Out Decor & Accessories.

Hint: You can Also Make Your Own.  I bought a vinyl tree and owl adhesive. Then I found wooden tree houses, that added a 3D look to the tree collage.

In conclusion, here are 6 Steps to Decorate a (Boy) Nursery.  We had a lot of fun, decorating our One and Only Son’s Nursery.  It was different than Decorating our Daughter’s Nursery.  Just remember, first, pick out your theme. Second, pick out your paint color. Third, pick out your furniture. Fourth, pick out your bedding and linens.  Fifth, pick out your decor and accessories.  Sixth, bring it all together.  It will take time accumulating everything, but it is obtainable to find everything within a few months.  Searching the web makes life easier.  If you have a baby shower, register for the items that you like and your friend’s will contribute to the nursery as well.  I didn’t have a registry, but I created invitations with the colors of his room, (green, blue, and brown, with an owl) and my friend’s made items, or looked for items, with those colors and theme. (Note, I had two other friends make baby blankets also, which I will post later).
