Today, I invite you into my Kitchen and Eat-In Nook.  This is our 3rd home (1st foreclosure). It had three layers of wallpaper, outdated cabinetry with white and gold hardware.  The appliances were broken and the dishwasher had mold in it. The counter tops were BLUE! Half the ceiling was missing, and the linoleum floor was scratched or missing from pets.  This kitchen needed a complete Makeover, but we were on a budget.  We had to decide which items could be re-used, re-purposed, and what needed to be upgraded.  Welcome to our Frugal Kitchen Makeover!

Here is a list of everything we did to the KITCHEN/NOOK:

1. Paint the cabinetry and replaced the hardware and hinges
2. Replace the counter tops
3. Add Window Treatments.  I bought and sewed new Roman Shades
4. Add a stone and glass back splash
5. Replace your vent with a cute shelf your canisters will love.
6. Remove unnecessary cabinetry and install a cabinets for a pantry or more storage.  We took out upper and lower cabinets with a bar and added a 3 stone and glass back splash

Frugal Kitchen Makeover

The counter tops were blue and the cabinets were a dirty pine with gold and white hardware.  This picture shows our new stainless steel faucet and black sink.
