Are you Ready?

The THREE biggest Tricks that you can do for any room in your home is to FIX the Floors and Walls and Accessorize.

It’s that Simple.  Don’t Believe Me? Check out my BEFORE and AFTER

Unlike the comfy, inviting feeling I get when I walk through a Model Home, I get Exactly the OPPOSITE feeling when I walk through a Foreclosure. When we go shopping for foreclosures, you never know what you are going to walk into.  Sometimes you walk in and say, “what is that smell”! or “what is on the floor, walls, doors”? It’s not for the faint at heart, but IF you can SEE the Bigger Picture, of how the Home CAN look like, then it’s Totally Worth It!

This room was scary! The carpet had stains everywhere, not to mention a light that looked like an alien spaceship. It had ripped, Aztec wallpaper border. The windows had white metal mini blinds, that were so filthy, I didn’t even dare touch them. They had some type of sticky residue.  The walls, were scratched and filthy.  The room needed a complete Remodel! Fortunately, this room just needed a cosmetic makeover. It needed new flooring, paint, and accessories.

The floors and walls are the FIRST thing that people see! Therefore, you need to make sure that they are AWESOME!  Once you fix the floor and walls, your room will Immediately look BETTER.  You have set the stage for your Room.  The only thing left are the accessories.

Everything in this picture (excluding furniture) cost under $1000.  First, I was able to save money by finding affordable flooring from a Liquidation Center that was going out of business. Second, I saved money by installing the flooring myself.  Third, I had to remove the wallpaper border before I could paint the accent wall and hang the floating shelves and install the L brackets. Last, I bought and made some accessories that I searched for online to get the best price. I made custom throw pillows to match my Roman shades. I also bought Beige Roman Shades, and sewed fabric to the top for a custom look. And I got free gutters, that I spray painted green, to hang my family portraits in.  With a little bit of sweat equity, I ended up with a Model Home Style on a Frugal Budget.
