Transform Your Garage Into a Master Suite
We live in a 1970, 1 story home with finished basement. The 3 bedrooms on the main floor are too small for our King Size bedroom set, we decided to build two more rooms in our basement. One room was the Garage. We chose the garage for our Master Suite, since it is long and rectangular, offering us the most ‘real estate’ for our King size bedroom set.
BEFORE
This was an unfinished garage that was used as a Meth Lab, well according to the neighbors. We bought this home as a foreclosure. We had evidence of the SWAT team breaking in (one of the doors had boards over it, where there used to be glass). ANYWAYS, this is the Before Picture. Everything had to be cleaned, Dry Locked, Framed, etc.
Install new French Doors
Add new Insulation, Frame HVAC ventilation
Frame the Walls and Add Insulation (another picture of HVAC vents framed with 2×4 boards).
Frame around the Ventilation and walls then cover with sheet rock.
Tape, Mud, and Sand
AFTER
We still need to finish painting near the ceiling, and create my custom head board (see board behind bed).
This is the other Half of the Room. I use it for my Craft Room.
The French Doors are Behind the Beige Curtains
