BEDROOM REVEALS

Pink and Green Owl and Flower Bedroom

DIY Name Decor, Letter Frame, Gutter Bookshelves, and DIY Owl Cushion

With a family of 6, we really want at least 5 bedrooms, so each child could have their own bedroom.  When we bought this home, it had 3 bedrooms on the main floor.  The basement was not finished, but it allowed us to add 2 more bedrooms in the basement.  Therefore, we finally got our 5 bedroom home!  However, it took several months for each bedroom to get cleaned and repaired.  When we first saw this room, the bedroom door had a whole the size of a body.  Their was black and white striped wallpaper which was peeling and gross carpet, and windows.  This room needed a complete remodel.  First, we tore out all of the flooring.  Then we removed the wallpaper.  Next, my husband spray textured the walls and painted them beige.  We bought new carpet and hung up blinds.  The last thing was to decorate the Pink and Green Owl and Flower Bedroom.

Pink and Green Owl and Flower Bedroom

The Pink and Green, Owl and Flower Bedroom,  is for Daughter #3.  She is 5 years old and finally loves Owls just like Me.  She got her sister’s, former owl comforter.  We decorated her room, with pink and green flowers from a former bedroom.  My sister made the pink frame with letter C, for my daughter’s name, Ciara.  I used a bathroom shelf, that used to be white and painted it pink, then I added pink and green flowers.  I created her Name Decor with Wooden letters, I painted white, then glued them to some pink and green card stock.  Using card stock was cheaper than frames, and gave each letter a focal point on the wall.  We already had the pink and green flower hooks from a previous girls bedroom and used them here for all of her backpacks and purses.  I also made the green cushion on top of her white chest, so she could sit under her gutter bookshelves and read a book.
