Basement Reveal

future bonus room and bathroom

This basement, was completely unfinished. It only had cinder blocks for the walls, and a concrete floor. The bathroom was roughed in. We added a hallway, full bath, bonus room with closet, large family room, and a 5th bedroom. My husband uses the bonus room for his office and I use the 5th bedroom for my real estate and staging area. I created an extra deep closet to hold my staging furniture and supplies.

After the sheetrock in screwed in, it is tapped at the seams, mudded, sanded, and finally painted.

Phase 3: Paint, Ceiling grids, Electrical, and HVAC.
The ceiling grids are added 1st, so the electrical and HVAC vents can go in. Once the electrical and HVAC vents are in, then the ceiling tiles are placed on the ceiling grids.

Phase 5: Doors, Baseboards, Electrical covers, finish work
We special ordered these glass doors.  It makes our basement, feel larger and open.  We wanted to let as much light in as possible.  Plus it helps our kids have accountability of what they watch in do, when friends come over. Parents are always checkin on them ;). Of course, the bathroom got a solid wood door.

Break down of what we did.

I will show the final reveal as soon as we get everything decorated.  We built new desks, hung curtains, and moved in all of our furniture. I organized and labeled my office and staging area. I also painted my grey cabinets white. I am still deciding on where to hang shelves and wall decor.
